Purpose- U

The first SMA example I have chosen that fulfils the requirements of Educating, entertaining and informing, is Postman Pat. Postman Pat is a children's stop motion animation television series, which  was first produced by Woodland Animations. The target audience for the series is Nursery and primary school children, who are aged 3-8. The programme is about the adventures of Pat Clifton, a postman in the fictional village of Greendale. Educating the viewers on what a job of a postman is about, and what he has to do, and the challenges he comes across. Postman Pat has a pet cat, who is very mysterious, which is very entertaining. It informs the audience, and how challenges occur, and how Postman Pat finds away to resolve them. The character is loved by everyone is the village, as he is very kind, and this a trait that young children are taught be from a young age.

The second SMA example I have chosen is the family film, James and the Giant Peach. This film is a feature stop-motion animation film and their is also a live action version of the film. The film is a adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved children's book, which follows the adventures of James a orphaned young British boy. Who is  forced to live with his cruel aunts, who don't take care of him at all. James ends up finding a magic worm at the end of the garden, which takes him away from his vilest aunts, in a giant peach. In the peach live some insects, that come to life. The models are made from a variety of materials, but the main being Plastacine. This film, educates people the audience on how to nice and treat people/animals all the same. James and the giant peach is extremely entertaining film for all the family, as it has little snips of adult human, but remaining suitable for children to watch.  It is informs the audience, just because the young orphaned boy is helpless and has nothing, he still wants to achieve goals and see the wold. At the end of the film, the peach travels to New York, then land son top of the Empire State Building. The characters over come a lot of challenges, which keep the viewer on the edge on their seats.

The final SMA example I have chosen the McCoy's Crisp advert. This advert was produced in 2003, and got over 100,000 views on YouTube. The SMA uses a packet of crisp, and Crips in the advert, so it is Object animation, which is different from the other examples which are Claymation. its a very simple advert but it does the job, and has proven very popular. It educates the view, that the bigger crisp packets are perfect for sharing. this is trait that should be taught to young children from a very young age. The advert is very entertaining, as it captures single crisps dancing and teaching the Crisp packet to dance. The advert would very suitable for all ages, and would be enjoyed by all. In the advert it also informs the audience of how many calories, and salt content in the crisp. This is really important, as people need to know that they are not healthy and should be eaten as a treat.
