Building Models and Props for Characters and sets - D
my video will just been filmed in one location, which is a front living room of a newly bought house. This set has to start off very plain with just windows and a door, although throughout my storyline props will be added to the scene.
The props that will be used are:
The props that will be used are:
- Mobile Phone
- Yellow Pages Book
- Plant
- Sofa
- Framed Painting
In the picture below you can see a very rough dawning of what I want my set to look like.
I will now start to work on my set and start to construct this. I will document my work when I have finished constructing it. I will use a variety of materials being cardboard for the shape, then paper for the walls and floor colour. for the windows and curtains I will use cotton and buttons.
I have pre made and purchased the props that will be used throughout my video. a photo of them are bellow-
I will now also get on to making my characters, as I have got a rough idea on how and what i want them to look like. I am using plastacine to make them, so it is easy for them to move and do different positions. some position I will want them to do is, carry in the sofa, lean down and pick up the yellow pages book and also hang the picture on the wall. all these movements require a large amount of adjustment. I will as create the characters clothes and facial features out of plastacine. to make sure their bodies stay in shape I will pierce a metal rod through bot of them so that they remain stable. this will secure them, and make sure they stand up right. to also make sure the balances are right I will put the most weight at the bottom, this will secure the model the top half wont become unbalanced.
I want the characters to have a lot of character, but not too much so that they look odd. I think I have captured their facial features well and you will be able to see what they are feeling thinking very well. the characters skin colours are yellow and green, I know this a bit odd but I was unable to get a skin like colour as plastacine. this is something I would change if I had more of a budget and more time.
